I heard that putting a distributor from an 88-89 Integra will cause the engine light to stay on. Is that true? Have you actually tested this match or is this list taken from another Honda website?

we have been doing DOHC ZC swaps for the past 8 years and this list is one that we compiled over the years and know to be 100% accurate - most other lists that you will find were copied from ours - the 88-89 Integra distributor is the exact match for the DOHC ZC - both are number TD03U - and, yes, we have used dozens of 88-89 Integra distributors on the DOHC ZC - don't listen to people that don't know what they are talking about

As long as you say so. I didn't say I knew it for a fact, maybe the person who told me that was basing their facts on another swap they did. Maybe the 88-89 Integra distibutor really is a perfect match and everything will work fine. If so, better for me cause I need to change it soon anyways.

OEM head bolts for the DOHC ZC are the same as the OEM head bolts for the B16A - OEM part no. 90006-PG6-003 - ARP head studs for the B16A work in the DOHC ZC - since the ARP studs project through the nut, they project farther above the top of the cylinder head than what the standard bolt head does - at one location on the ZC head, which is the bolt on the intake side at the center of the head, the ARP stud needs to be ground off a couple of mm on the bottom so that it doesn't project thru the nut quite as far in order to clear the camshaft

Will the timing belt for a Acura Integra D16A1 86-89 work on a dohc zc?
crxrocks said:
NO Use a 88 PRELUDE belt.
And the reason why is the D16A1 uses 40t/20t cam/crank timing pulleys and the ZC uses 34t/17t pulleys.

40/20 = bigger diameter, which = longer belt. The tensioner cannot take up the difference.

Dizzy Fit

Going to be using OBD1 ECU (HONDATA S300) in the civic D16A9 (OBD0). But I would need to be using a OBD1 dizzy instead. Is there any OBD1 dizzy that will fit the D16A9 Head? TD-41U(D16B), TD-44U (B16A)?
