i notice that the 92-95 D16Z6 motors had something called "front and back engine stiffner", this is something that my old LS motor had as well, now as i read i noticed that it did not say anyhthing about the D16A6 or any other EF D motor having this.

now im concerned because im running a 92 D15B vtec motor with a EF tranny L3 something something its a DX tranny, and so im wondering if these 2 "stiffner brakets" are neccesary? sinse the motor is a 92-95 and is D16z6ish

here is a pic of what im talking about... this a D16Z6:

the pic is crappy hopefully you guys know what im talking about.

so basically do i need the brakets or no??

I never ran them after first tranny swap on the D16Z6.......

Only time I did run then was when I dropped in the Z6 motor/tranny swap, that last a good 3-4 months before trying a different tranny.

I've removed them from my rallycar, run 2 1/2 seasons without and no problems

the 88-91 civic blocks dont have the "bolt holes" for one of the "stiffner".

i'm only running one of those stiffners right now instead of two and encountered no problems.
