I drive a 97 Civic EX (obd2) with the stock d16y8 in it, but I will soon be swapping to a z6 head/y8 block setup. Here are the questions:

Can I use the dizzy on my y8 right now, with the y8 P2P ECU, with the z6 head? I will be tuning the 11:1 compression motor with a VAFC, so OBD1 isnt an issue right now. Are there any extra parts that I will need to make it work? Also, will there be compatibility issues between the z6 head and cam, and the y8 dizzy?

Thanks.....

You will need the Z6/Z1 dizzy to make it bolt up - the bolt pattern is different. Swap internals from your Y8 into a Z6/Z1 housing and you'll be golden.

So, you mean I can use my y8 dizzy, but I need to put it in the z6 housing? I might as well use the entire z6 dizzy and convert to obd1 for future compatibility.

Tangent question: Will the y8 vtec solenoid fit on the z6 head?

just use the entire z6 distributor and repinthe connector to fit on your OBD2 harness. z6 and y8 distributors are the same internally

Yes, the solenoid and pressure switch is the same on the Y8 and Z6 and possibly the B16 too. I seen some one on ebay selling a solenoid and pressure switch and they claimed that it would if a b or d series engine but I have never tried it.
