I just finished tearing down my Y8 and I have the block sitting on my engine stand. I got a deal on some eagles for $275 so I bought them, and I already notched and de-greased the block:

Anyone see the bearing that makes a click-click-click sound? :TD:

So on to the topic; I've heard a lot of people say the Z6 cranks and oil pumps are better than the Y8's. One reason for this is the rumor that the Z6 cranks have chamferred oil holes that go all the way through the crank and the Y8 holes are not chamferred and only exit one side. Is that true?

I took pictures of my Y8 crank and pump in order to compare to those of a Z6 if anyone has pics...

Oil holes on my Y8 crank are definitely not chamferred:

Any truth to the rumors?

If my crank was easier to reach I'd snap a quick pic... I'll see what i can do when I get home!
Thanks Blk, I'd appreciate that.

None of the rest of you guys able to confirm whether or not the Z6 cranks have chamferred oil holes?

It's not reachable at the moment. Lawnmower, the Lancer, ladder, then two other tubs of Civic parts and the box with the IC & piping is in my way. So unless a maid cleans up the garage for me, I won't be able to...

I'm sure there are other Z6 crank pics around!
