Is there any real benefit to doing a rear drum-to-disc conversion? I've got the option to (since I bent my trailing arm). I was quoted $275 for the rear end from an Integ, is that a good price?

yeah that sounds good to me,

but I believe you'll need to upgrade some other stuff too,
like the lines, master cylinder, and maybe other stuff.

that is more $$ that you'll have to spend, but things like that do actually give a good improvement in braking feel, so are worth it.

It's from a Honda junkyard in Arlington
Do they have several? I'll be interested in doing this in the spring and Arlington isn't too bad of a drive for me.
I'm not sure how many they have, but it's at Honda Heaven if you've heard of them... They have lots of spare motors in stock from what I've seen

damn .. we have a honda heaven out here in california too .. its in pacoima, right like 10 miles past the street races on glenoaks .. good place .. kinda of pricey though $$ i think they know what they got ... not like some other junkyards where they dont know how valueable import goods are .. which is probally why your getting that integ rear setup so damn cheap ! thats an awesome price .. and like Tad said ... you will need some other stuff to go along with the newly acquired rear disc setup ... post pics to keep us updated .. !!

In terms of what you need for the swap, its pretty simple. rear trailing arms from integra, civic si hb e-brake cables, 40/40 proportioniung valve, new brake fluid. it all bolts right on, you do not need to buy new brake lines. You can even re-use you a-arms.

Since everyone is getting these kick ass deals... I think I'm going to wait on the rear disc setup and upgrade the front brakes instead and also buy the rear trailing arm (tire is showing steel now... :( ) ... I gotta buy books for school. I'll get pics as soon as possible...

Well, here's the deal peeps... I went to the junkyard looking for just the trailing arm, but no one had one... I checked 3. So I just ended up buying the Integra rear end for $250.
I'll let everyone know how it goes...

I paid $325 for all 4 corners suspension arms, brakes rotors, etc. from an Integra GSR on eBay.

Honestly, I have heard that the rear disk swap does not add too much on our cars. Just looks good. This is coming from racers, so they would know. Now the front disks are another matter altogether. They can be the biggest braking improvement you'll ever see.

what kind of car are you putting this on? i am in kind of a similar situation. ive got a si hatch but one of my calipers sticks. so i got in touch with a guy to buy a new piece of hatch glass(it got broken into 2days ago) and he wants to get rid of lots of stuff really cheap. he said he has a 97 gsr that i can get the whole rear end out of for like 100$. so will this work on my 93 civic si? and what stuff should i be sure to get to make it work? the sooner i can find info the better, like i said im waiting to get that glass at the same time.

I got everything for the rear... from lower control arm to upper a-arm. I even have the rear Integra shocks. This is going on my 98 Civic LX Sedan.

Hey natlight4u2, what's he plan to do with the GSR front brakes?
