mid block (d15b7/d16a6/d16z6) or oil pump (d16y7/y8) ?

I generally will spray something like jd80 or wd40 all over it, and slowly attempt to twist back and forth carefully.

if you dont care about the tube, cut it close to base, pinch end and twist it directly out

did you undo the clips that hold it to the timing cover?
And i believe there is a 10mm bolt on some motors.

You didnt say if it was a y or a z motor.

But the only thing that holds it in after that is an oring. So give it a little twist and pull and it will come out

Find a metal rod, socket extension, screwdriver, etc.. that fits snugly inside the tube then grab the outside with vice grips and twist back and forth. Full disclosure, I've never done it this way but it works for removing stuck dowel pins and I imagine the same concept would work here. Thanks Bone for that tip!

It's a b7. I was finally able to get it out. I used a long 1/4" extension and hammered it out.
