Thanks!

Just been playing with it today (the car i mean) and still no luck on the idle front, tried several things, including the idle adjustment screw, still couldnt manage to sort it!

Only one thing left to do and thats get it set up properly this week sometime, although its sooner than i might have liked. Its just not safe to drive otherwise! And with all the work gone in to it, i dont want to fuck it up.

Vids will be up when it actually idles! :TU:

All going to be a bit quiet for the next week or so.

Ive got the car booked in at a tuning place. Im going to drop it off on the 15th and when they get a spare slot they will have a look at it. Otherwise there next available slot would have been march!

Hopefully with this it will all get sorted properly, although i know ill need some new injectors....

Well, things have moved on a bit quicker than i expected. I had origianlly got the car provisionally booked in with a Honda specialist today, and i was going to leave it with them so they could fit it in when they had time. I told them it was fairly urgent as its my DD!

So i was going to trailer it down on the 2 1/2 hour journey and not be in a rush. THe problem was, the guy rang up this mornig wondering where i was, cus he wanted to tune it today!

Wasnt going to happen though. After breaking several speed limits to get a drum full of high octane petrol, and then some last minute wiring it got down ther this afternoon.

He said he should be able to do it sometime this week, and they will call me when its done! I was expecting to have to wait weeks till they could fit it in!

Its getting tuned with the Hondata S200 system. And im looking forward to the results! So be ready for news this week sometime! (hopefully!!!)

Yeh, i think im more nervous than excited at the moment! I just hope to god it survives the dyno! I couldnt handle it if ive made some balls up putting it together!

But i am intrigued how much he will get out of it... Id like to see good numbers, but not really knowing what to expect it could be anything i suppose!

Well.... This is the update. Not as succesful as i would have hoped. But not a complete loss! As some of you will have seen, ive had some big problems in tuning my car. Well, my tuner has.

The engine just wasnt pulling any vacuum. It could ge runing, and be held at 3k RPM, but was readin of the side of the map as if it was at 7k.

After all the time ispent trying to get this spot on when i put it together, it looks as if the cam timing might have been out. The tuner advanced the cam the full 10 degrees that the AEM cam gear allows, and it started to run better and pull some vacuum. Basically that means it must be a tooth out.

Pain in the arse! Im going to get the car back and sort the timing, then with the map he will leave me, i should be bale to get it idling, and drive it a bit. Then i have to sort out getting the final tune done!

This has been nothing short of sepressing really, i am desperate to get it sorted. The one good thing so far though is that i thinkit has suprised the tuner. When i first got involved with him, he pretty much dismissed it as 'just a d-series, it wont make much power'.

Today though he said hes had it running, albeit roughly, and he said it 'felt fresh' Which was his way of saying felt pretty strong, and he commented it should do pretty well! So chalk one up for proving a point there! ANd now lets hope for some success over the next week!

Damn, its been a while...! But after pretty much 2 years ive got this thing sorted!

The first place i took the car to for tuning, they were shit..! Simple as that. THe guy didnt really want to know about tuning a car unless it was a K series and he could use K-Pro. I probably should have realised this and not gone there, but they were supposed to be the main hondata dealers in England.

Ah well. The car went elsewhere, and after a lot of messing around trying to get it sorted, and having to rebuild it after the first idiot messed it up, (fucked the rings by overfuellig a fresh engine..!) it runs really well.

Didnt quite have time to get a power run to get the figures, as we wanted the mapping 100%, but all i can say is thing really pulls hard! Its quite tame really up to about 4.5k, but from about 5-5.5k it just takes off! Heres a little video of first and second gear...

Let me know what you think! And i will have a couple of new pics up with my new wheels too!
