Bought an f22b2 off kijiji a few weeks ago to swap into my civic. Just looking for someone who's done a similar swap in the past (I think H swap is almost identical) who I can refer to for where they found assorted parts. Some have been a total pain in the ass to find

I did an F2D swap in an EF many years ago. Used a Bisimoto/Evolution plate kit to do it. But I'm familiar with it into an EG as well. A little easier than the EF swap.

Here is a good reference for parts. And yes, I recommend the B series trans. Its just easier to adapt than the D. Shop Brough | Brough Performance. USA made Plateless non-plated H2B and F2B swap kits
I’ll definitely look into that. The plan is actually to find an H transmission (there’s an m2b4 near where I live that’s kinda cheap) that I think fits of what I’m reading is correct. Or depending on what sort of deals the PnP has, I can just grab an H or F trans from there.

B series trans running any F2B/H2B plateless setup is superior from my experience. H or F trans in an EG body will have severe axle angle issues. If you ever turbo it or plan on clutch dumping at 5k rpms, you'll be replacing axles quite often. Just my experience, and that of many others that have run this setup

Oh okay, I didn’t even know you could run plateless. I know there’s an adaptor for it but I can’t justify spending that much money at this point, which is why I’d go F or H.

Thanks for sharing, I’ll see if I can find a video. I get a good enough idea of it but I still don’t want to fuck it up since I can’t see anything

So, um, yeah...

Instead of going F, I decided to go B-swap because it was a lot easier and my friend said he had an integra with a shot body but a good drivetrain. He was selling it to me cheap, so I thought "what the hell?" I finally get to seeing it yesterday and while it's not great, it's 100x better than the condition of the eg (I took off the plastic rocker trim, and it's bad). So I listed the civic a couple days ago and I'm gonna be rebuilding and driving the integra instead.

I'm pissed off about the way this whole thing has gone, but there's not a whole lot I can do at this point. Fixing it is now beyond my ability, and I'm not sure it would be able to fit the daily requirement like the integra would (abs, power steering, good a/c) plus the thing isn't rusted out.

I'll start a new thread and post photos when I get the integra, just figured I'd let you know if anyone still gave a shit.

If you're in Western Canada (I'm in Calgary), let me know if it's something you're interested in. Selling it cheap

No idea how I managed to sell it in one day. It's amazing what people are willing to pay for those things.

Yeah haha, people are crazy for the name it seems. Honestly so happy I was able to get rid of it though, it was gonna burn a large hole in my pocket in order to get it up to par

The canadian honda restoration project understatement of the year :)

I swear, it is 100x more difficult restoring canadian and northern usa vehicles compared to cars that come from florida, texas or california for example.

I give respect to those willing to take the time to repair body issues as severe as some cars can get living a life in Canada.

I'd love to be the one to fix it, but I just can't financially manage that as a student right now
