So I recently swapped my blown d17a2(vtec) out of my 2003 Acura El. I Put in a d17a1(non-vtec) out of a 2002 Honda Civic. Yes, I swapped in a non-vtec, not by choice but money is tight and that’s what I could afford. Anyway, I’m still using the vtec wiring harness, and I am going to get my non-vtec ecu installed and flashed. So my problem/question is... if I keep the vtec wiring harness with the non-vtec ecu, will my o2 sensors throw codes? If so, then how do I correctly wire in non-vtec o2 sensors into the vtec wiring harness? I need to pass an emisssions test pretty soon. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.

find a wiring pinout diagram for both ecu's and have a look.

I have no experience with wiring 7th gens, so a wiring diagram would be my first stop in research

the a2 head wont swap on the a1?.....

which would mean you could run stock ecu......?

I wouldnt throw a head from a blown motor onto another without a full inspection at a shop, which is probably why hes wanting to try the nonvtec route for now
