It seems that the Z9 is vary similar (if not the same as) to the D16Z6. If you wish to change the pistons, you do not have to use new rods or a crankshaft. You can simply have the new pistons pressed onto your current rods.
The PM7 pistons are not a good choice, in my opinion. You will need to use the highest grade of gasoline, and tuning becomes very important because of the high probability of detonation.
