I just got the Arp head bolts in today from UPS. I saw how the Nuts look and I was wanting to know what size socket they use (12 point nut). Thanks!

I looked at the paper that came with the bolts it says to Torque them to 60lb-ft. Are there stages to torque them down?
EX:

1st - 20
2nd - 40
3rd - 60

Or would it be best to torque them down to 65 lb-ft?

Gonna be doing work on the car this weekend to change the headgasket. Im also gonna be putting in a A6 Cam w/Y8 Cam Gear. Might also put on the Y8 intake manifold while I have the head off since I have it, not sure yet cause I havent found anyone that has done the coversion to a B7. Ive only seen the write up for a Z6, so im not sure if it would be the same and dont know what mods will need to be done. Well Thanks for the Help! Its Highly Appreciated!
If it says 60 do 60 DONT DO 65 or higher, you might end up damaging the stud by streching them with the load. and yes first do 20, 40 then 60. Or you can do 30 then 60.

Don't forget to check the torque again after a few miles. Even at stock torque expect them to streach a little bit.

All the Toyotas I've ran them on have been 14mm 12-points. If you don't have a 12mm or 14mm 12-point socket hit sears up they're like $4 ea
remimber strech 3 then final torque them
Almost forgot, ALWAYS use the lubricant that ARP provides when installing them otherwise it will give you a wrong read out.
Honda now recommends tightening head bolts in three steps, so your 20/40/60 plan is perfect. The nuts are 12 point 12mm. Make sure you follow the proper torque sequence, too.
middle out, like ANY motor.......
We both know how many people don't torque their heads properly. :)
^Lube up, and we won't have problems like that...

i never retorqued mine and i've had them on there almost 9000 miles with lotsa boost, no problems!
all the arp's i have done have been 13mm 12 pt. wierd...
I justed checked the nut size with an open end wrench I have and it was 12mm. So I will be going with a 12mm 12 point deep socket. Yeah I will be installing them with the Inward out sequence in 3 stages with the ARP Lube, so it will be done right. Thanks for the help!
