Say what you did again.

You took a running car and did a dry compression test?
Disable fuel and spark?

And then you put the plug and wires back in. Reable fuel and spark. Then started it up and it misfire really bad?
Are the spark plugs in the right order?
You say its smoking alot is it blue, white, or black?
If you pour oil down the cylinder for a wet test and pour to much you might have bent a valve which would cause low to no compression in a cylinder.
