So I'm building a d16y8, parts being used are as follows

walbro 255 fuel pump
440 eagle talon injectors(possibly) may go bigger

Y8 block
stock crank
vitaras and custom length rods (0.007 ptw 75mm)
0.19 top end ring gap
0.21 second end ring gap
acl bearings, (have to look for clearances)
stock ported oil pump


Head (undecided)
hx35 turbo, ram horn, depending on funds maybe twin scroll
OEM head gasket
AEM cam gear
possibly bisi level 3.4 cam and supertech vavle train

Stock tranny, still looking at what clutch and flywheel to get...any advice?

looking to make 350-400hp

Possible stand alone hondata s300 ecu, found one for cheap!, if that falls through, just chipped p28 ecu tuned with crome


just finished notching my block! there a little rough area in the piston skirt travel, is that bad for the skirts? how should i go about smoothing that out? any input or advice with the set up feel free to mention. pics will come soon!

Also still trying to find what a good bearing clearance is, and also wondering if 0.007 ptw with 75mm bore is safe to run.

try a walbro 190 instead of the 255. most of the civic 5th and 6th gen stock fuel pumps handle 300hp no problem with a simple fuel pressure regulator and a new hose from the tank to the filter to cut pumping losses down a bit.

why 75mm vitaras? that is stock bore. you want a fresh bore on a higher horsepower build. Stock is fine if maybe 200-250. I enjoy a fresh slate when going for more power though.

have a shop do an alignment bore to 75.5mm and also have them open up the oiling holes a little on the crank.

research oil pump porting. stock oil pump could use some help pumping. dont shim unless you go crazy and open up every oil hole you see

just going to stick with std bore, I've seen good builds with std bore, going to get the block honed however. specs are in first post
75mm bore (0.007 ptw)
0.19 top ring end gap

anyone help me out with what my main bearing clearances should be? and re a sure that a 0.007 ptw is fine? i've read that 0.003 to 0.0025 is fine.

I would bore out to 75.5mm and go with 255 walbro
lol, im confused with what to do, I've seen good builds with std bore, but Im being told to do the bore and i understand its a better idea to, hmm lol, and to be honest theres no reason for me not wanting to do the bore lol, just if i don't have to why do it?

I guess it personal preference, it gives alittle more power. One thing I would maybe consider would be 3 angle valve job after your head is done.

i've tried to search for rod bearing clearances, but cant seem to find anything. anyone have a link with anything to do rod bearing clearances? such as safe clearances for 350-400hp? thanks!!

Dropped the block off to get honed and hot tanked!:) should be back in a couple days! decided to stick with the std bore. and could anyone help me out with connecting rod bearing clearances? and if there is any clearances needed for the bearings the crankshaft sets in on.

thanks! Ive also made a few changes, im now using arias pistons and eagle rods. I'm also switching to a y7 block, i got it for free, and i dont like the way the notches look that i did on the y8 block..i'm still going to be using the y8 head and y8 crank in the y7 block. eveything else however is going to stay the same.

well its the clearence that i have with the std 75mm bore. Ive read a couple builds with that ptw and theyre still running strong.
