Hello everyone,I have a question,so I have a 2000 honda civic ex and I did a swap since my y8 was done for and I have the original harness from the y8 engine used for the y7,everything is well except for my rev limiter not letting me go past 5k so I was told that I need to get the ecu from a d16y7 engine so I did that today,plugged it in and the car did not start,the ecu I grabbed was a P2E

have you tried plugging the d16y8 ecu back in? This is to verify something didnt go wrong while installing Y7 ecu

have you inspected the d16y7 to verify it was even any good? dont rely on sellers. they suck sometimes.

do a compression check if the starter engages. disconenct the distributor and fuel injector harness plugs so you dont attempt to start. make sure to hold the throttle open while doing the compression test. Remove all spark plugs too.

EDIT ALSO:::::::::
make sure you matched years. 96-98 is OBD2a 99-00 is OBD2b. they are NOT INTERCHANGABLE directly
