(edit: it's a d16y4 engine, not a d16y5. thanks s 18 and 88cr-rex)

hi folks- a noobish question. i want to upgrade my cam for my d16y4 (d16y7) but i wanna stay "stage I". that's because i don't have the money to spend on springs + retainers if i do a stage II upgrade. now, here's what i want you to help me consider: i have two offers; one, a crower camshaft for $180; two, a d16y7 cam for $60. of course the second option is for a stage I regrind by delta, or gude. which cam will be a better selection? thanks for your help!

Doesn't the Y5 have roller rockers, and thereby utilize a completely different design?
ummm, guess not, but maybe it's me that i'm wrong. if i'm correct d16y5 is the australian equivalent to the d16y7. the one you're referring to is the d16b5

guys, you are right: it's d16y4, not d16y5.

To determine which cam would be best, you would need to know the specs of each of them...
Both are custom grind, if they are for the D16Y7.
