Hey guys, just looking for guidance with what to do.

I currently have a 1989 Honda civic SI with a d16A6, 270k on the engine.

When I purchased the car, I was told the second to last owner was a machinist and had done work to the head / shaved the block, possibly some cam work as well. The engine runs strong, no burning oil.

I recently picked up a d16z6 head for a good price (rebuild, pressure tested, machined ext) and was thinking of doing a mini me

My question is,

1)should I buy a new engine, rebuild it, and throw the mini me on the spare engine, convert to obd1, p28, ext.

2) rebuild the current block, find out what exactly, if anything, was done to the bottom end and then build the mini me from that?

3)

My apologies, accidentaly pressed send on the phone.

There is no #3

Any insight would be nice though.

I'm thinking rebuild the current block may be the better option, as A6's are becoming harder to find with low mileage (almost impossible to find out in Vancouver Canada)

Thanks
