The arrow on top of OEM pistons should face toward the timing belt side of the motor.

If I install the Nippon turbo pistons into the cylinders then the reliefs on top of the pistons seem visually to be backwards.

Using my eyes and common sense, the pistons should be flipped around so that the intake relief matches the diameter of the intake valve, etc...

Has anyone experienced any problems defying common knowledge and instead trusting common sense to flip the pistons so that the reliefs match but the arrows are pointing in the fylwheel direction?

if they are nippion vitara pistons yes turn them towards the flywheel
