My ej2 d15b7 loses all power and stutters really bad if u push the throttle more then 10%. This is worse when the engine is at operating temperature.

I tried checking the engine codes but when i connect the two pins the engine light just stays on. When the pins are not connected there isn't a engine light.

I switched out the o2 sensor for a different one.

I also cleaned up the connector on the thermostat housing.

Yes, i jumped the two wire connector.

Did not check timing, wil check as soon as possible.

Sounds like misfire. When was the last time the car was tuned up? Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor? Check for oil leaks inside the distributor? Oil inside the spark plug tubes?

Bad map or tps could do it too, but start with the basics as drtalon123 suggested. And don't forget to include a fuel filter in that list

Just checked timing, timing is still good.

Did check for codes with running engine but nothing pops up.

Do not know the history of the car did replace the spark plugs.

I will order all parts u listed and the fuel filter. Hope that will do it.

Might be map or tps, but will it show a code is they are bad?

Is it possible ecu is bad?

Also should add the engine runs perfectly fine at a stable rpm. For example when cruising or indeling engine works as expected. Its only when accelerating or revving the car in neutral.

Often times the ecu won't notice a flat spot in a tps or map sensor signal, it just thinks the throttle isn't being opened or load isn't increasing.

Okay that's interesting. Will refresh the distributor first and the replace the fuel filter. If this doesn't fix it will move on to the tps and map sensor.

do not jsut order parts and throw them at it.


check for spark, fuel, and compression. The first two can be done with a screwdriver and a 12v LED bulb
