Hello all,

This is my first post and I am just getting into the Honda motors, so please forgive any stupid questions.

After rebuilding the head of my D15B7 (3 angle valve job, port, polish, Blah, Blah, Blah) I found that the pressure on the cylinders has begun to suck oil past the rings. So, I bought a D15B7 short block to prep and found that it has a bent rod. Though, there is no damage on the top of the piston to indicate any contact causing the bent rod.

I have been told that a D15B7 rod is the same as the D16Z6 rod. Is this true? Where is the best place to buy a set of rods (not high end, just stock replacement or used)? What pistons will work in the D15B7? I believe the bore is 75mm (please correct me if I am wrong), but are there other pistons from, say, the D16 that will work? What is the max overbore on a D15? I would like to bore/hone the block and put a new set of pistons/rings in and have it ready for the head I already reworked.

I don't want to build a bunch of horspower with the D15B7 (I have a B16-DOHC for that), I just want a good running engine? Is there any advice here? I have been doing engines for a long time, but this is my first Honda engine. Do I need a block guard? Any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Marc
