ok, i tried searching but i cannot find the info i need,

regarding d15 non vtec head studs,

IIRC they'r the same head studs for the d16a6 right?

the question is, i think i saw or read sumwer about the d15 head studs the earlier ones where the normal looking studs and the later ones wer helical<=== had a thread like pattern along the length of the head stud,

is this suppose to be better than the normal looking ones? upside? downside?

thank you,

D15B1,2,7, D16A6 and D16Z6 head studs are all interchangeable. :TU:

Honda may not have the exact same OEM part numbers for each, but ARP's head studs are labled to work in non-VTEC D15B's, D16As and Z6's.

:edit: Yes, the helical-looking stud is supposed to be stronger, but why not fork over the $93 for some ARP's? (TunerToys' ebay store has them) Unless you already have a set of mint helical head studs.

yes my friend, i have both sets of oem, head studs,
1 helical one, which is (not sure if its mint) but i open'd the block myself for the first time in its life<--- not yet reused

and 2 sets of used a6 head studs ( prolly about 2-3 times reused)

so... was juz wondering

although i do agree, forking out 90++$ for ARP head studs is the best money can buy,

Got a set of ARP's sitting waiting for my next build. And the Aluminum rods I had made have them too. ARP & Bisi said they dont make any for the D15 and supposadly the D16's dont fit on a D15 rod.
