ok i looked around could not find any thing
I have a d15b2 block and a d15z1 head
Would it be worth it to swap the head?
what gains if any?

Not worth it IMHO.

The z1 head is a Vtec-E head. It is mainly for emissions reduction and fuel mileage. You would need to convert to OBD1 to take full advantage of it, for vtec and the 5 wire o2 control that the P07 ecu requires. I know there is a P07 that does not use the 5 wire but they are hard to find. Plus the Z1 is only rated at like 92 hp which is only 2hp more than the b2. I say sell the Z1 head and buy an A6 cam!! That would net you more power.

Also, the z1 cyl head has small valves, very small intake ports, and a small combustion chamber. You'd need to use a vx int manifold, which is tiny, and then tune for the setup. It'd bump compression considerably, if the head and piston didn't collide, and, when it's all said and done you'd probably see about high 16 sec to low 17 sec 1/4mile(ex trans) and 55+ mpg ...
