so i was changing the oil pan gasket and i started looking at the cylinder walls with the oil pan off.. the cylinder walls are mirror like. i cant find any wear on the walls. there seems to be a very small gap were the cylinder wall meets the block. i have never seen any used engine with a mirror like cylinder walls this was a jdm engine i bought off the internet. i dont really know what im looking at. is it a sleeve?

lol... search dude. the "cylinder wall" is the sleeve. thats gap is called... well its not called anything.. its a gap between the sleeve and the piston and the rings are around the pistons, that contact the sleeve.

all honda motors use sleeves

all aluminum blocks use sleeves.

the only motors that dont have them is iron blocks
