all that i know if its d15b 3stge Vtec.. there are 2 vtec solenoids.. d16z6 have only 1 solenoid same as d15b sohc vtec at early production

but.. if i choose 3stage vtec.. i must change my ECU too if i want the "3stage" active

No, not exactly U can slap on the single solenoid vtec on ur jdm15b head and run with the p28 ecu butta, u won't get vtec untill 5500 and when u do It'll be as noticable as a b-series thats cause u don't have all 16valve engaging untill 5500 (where its supose to only have 12valve engaing and vtec at low rpm and swhitch to mid and high rpm with the dual solenoid).

Let me rephrais that vtec engages at 4500 not 5500 I fogot that was when I was obd2 when i used the pigtailo adapter to the p28 vtec kicks all the way to 7500 iono kinda wierd butta it did with the stock ecu. Th e difference is that the jdmd15b head has a more agreasivier cams.
