hi there d-fam,

im a newbie where the transmission game is concerned. Im building a d15b2 (usdm) block bored to 76mm with new pm3 pistons and im slapping a d16z6 head (bisimoto cam 2, bisimoto springs and retainers, skunk2 valves). This is going into a 96cx chassis. its about 11:1 compression.

Now heres the problem... i have the stock d16y7 cx trans with over 100k on it. For peace of mind i would like to get a new trans to start building (especially at the urging of my older bro who insists my y7 trans ratios are too long). Should i go for something else? and if so which trans?

any hadvice would be helpful

go with the si or ex from a 92-95 civic or a ex from a 96-00 civic. That would be your best bet!
