okay I gots some ???'s
for all the tranny gurus out there...
esp..... Mr. TransZex/Bone!!

heres da deal.
just read an article in honda tuning
on Bisi's new SOHC F22 setup
said he was gonna use the 87 teg d16 tranny w/
a custom adapter plate.

my FIRST question is this:
does a JDM DOHC ZC tranny bolt up to the teg D16a1?

SECOND ???:
are the internals from the 87-89 teg tranny
interchangeable in any way w/ 88-00 civic trannies??

THIRD ???:
Can I put some y8 internals(cracked case) into a cx case?

thanks in advance,
JDMism

p.s. I did searches on the above
and didn't get CLEAR/SPECIFIC answers
thats why I'm asking....

you can put y8 internals into a cx case. i have y8 gear sets, and ring gear in my 92-95 cx case. you have to use the bearing on the end of the counter shaft from the cx trans and you have to use the cx shift forks wich are stronger than the y8 shift forks anyways.

I don't believe the tranny pictured to be a 86-89 Teg tranny........

But that is what Jamie builds mostly.

The internals are not interchangeable due to the larger bearing sizes and width differences.

How you like them dog gears??????

Ok, I just got done talking with Bisi..............

The photo in SCC is a 94-00 GSR tranny, the photo was provided by Jamie to show the dog synchro setup, not what Bisi has in his car!

Bisi is running a CG tranny like Jamie/Kirk Olsen/Paul G. run, just no provisions to down shift!
