Im planning an all motor build for my dd *looking for around 250-300whp* here goes:

On a pretty tight budget as of now but will look up in the future. I'm trying to use parts and tooling that are readily available to me (ie machine shop, fab shop and my garage lol)

Parts: Block, crank, connecting rods will all be d16y7 Head will be d16y8 (milled 0.019" along with a p/p) 0.025 head gasket Pm3 pistons out of d15b7 (will be shaving 0.060" off) Of course arp bolts I should be around 11.1-1 c/r and piston to deck should be about 0.020" allowing a little room for stretch.

As for which cam, tune I will be using im not sure yet

would like to hear some suggestions first

Give me your 2 cents all opinions are welcome

I would go with forged internals with a nitrous kit and eb intake and a 1.7 crank to make it a stroker

I'm planing to build up an D16 Economy Frankenstein. I try to use as much Honda parts as possible :

D16Y7 block
D15Z6/EK3 EUDM head (same as Y8 except the camshaft etc.) ported
D16Y8 intake manifold ported
SKUNK2 cam gear
ITR Airbox (not bought yet, trying to find a cheaper and better solution)
Compression: 10,25:1 (shall i go further ? cause the car is for daily use)

D16Z6 exhaust manifold (i should probably buy s.th. else, mine is starting to crack)
2'' middle silencer
Twin loop muffler

tranny: USDM D15Z1

wheels: 6.5x15 ET38 195/50/15

Plan is to achieve a mileage that is above 40 mpg.
I wanted to keep the power steering and A/C.
I will probably run this on a chipped P28 with a Boomslang converter.
Any suggestions or advice ?

Yeah it looks like it would be a lot but its actually cheaper than a turbo build. I'm also putting it into a 1982 civic hatch so there is not a lot of room for anything in that engine bay. The car weighs roughly around 1900 lbs so a 150hp and geared out d16 will be stout. I also bought a cable CRX SI tranny so I wouldn't have to convert hydro to cable. I love the power of a turbo motor but I am building this car for a daily/track use so NA is more ideal. I will probably go with s300 since its not that much more.

Drove it home tonight!!

For my 92 hatch which was a stock B7 car w/197,700 miles on it; the plan was to build this Y8 for boost then swap it at 200,000 miles. The head gasket had other plans, so it's N/A for now.

rebuilt Y8 from 2000 coupe
Wiseco 75.5mm pistons
Honda HG and oil pump
Eagle stock length H-beams
ARP head studs
stock crank; may stick a Z6 in there
Schneider re-ground cam, now 260* duration
decked head .010" but I'm not 100% sure; have to check papers
RActive header, welded the studs so they stop falling out... it came with the car
stock IM, it's for an auto trans but I made the B7's IACV fit/work
P28, re-pinned for manual trans
OBD2-1 dizzy wiring and VTEC harness from 2jzdreamin (good shit!)
B0000 trans that grinds into 4th a little... may stick the A0000 back in

Turbo bits:
GT2860RS
Evo FMIC
RC 550 squirters
aluminum radiator; looks like a knock-off... was just $50 so why not
14" slim fan, may be 12" I forget
Exedy stage 1 clutch disc; also came with the car

No specific power goals; I wanted to build my own engine for once, so here it is.

Hondata s200 iI plan to have it dyno tuned

Im not pozsitive on safe compression numbers i was thinking around 11:5 or 12:2.1 at most.

Right now I'm in my second year at college getting my associates in automotive tech. I sold my last Honda (94 Civic EX coupe) about a year ago but I still had the original Z6 I swapped out of it with 233k and decided to build it up for advanced engines class. At the moment it's at the machine shop but I pretty much have everything thats going into it besides TB and injector setup. If you see anything I could improve on let me know.

Head:
Comp 59300 cam
Supertech springs and titanium retainers
AEM cam gear
Nitride valves (no name)
OEM head gasket
3 angle valve job

Block:
Bored to 76mm
Wiseco 11 to 1 pistons
Stock rods reconditioned with ARP bolts
OEM oil pump, timing belt, tensioner, water pump ect.

I'm looking for about 150whp, does anybody think I can do it with the right tune? Thanks

I'm new to this so if y'all want to give me crap you can. I planing on doing a jdm d16a head which is d16z6 vtec head. I placing it on a d15 block. The cars original motor is a d16y8 vtec. I have a few questions if anyone would be willing to help me. Th y8 head is wore out so I'm not going to reuse it on the d15 block. I'm planning on using the y8 intake. Is this a good idea? Can I use the y8 coil and plug and plug wires? Honestly this is my first time doing this so I could definently use the advice. This is what they call a mini me swap is it not? From what I understand the jdm d16a is rare and produces more hp, is this true?
