Is this normal, I drove my car about 20 miles and stopped to check the coolent level (leaky heater core outlet) and i opened the rad cap. I was expecting it to spew out or something but it didnt. So i stuck my finger in the radiator and the coolent was warm but not hot. it was a lil cooler than bath water. Is this normal? I just have never seen a engine stay this cold the valve cover wasent even that hot. The temp gauge show about a lil under half. But yea is this normal?

LOL spelling owens me! And yes i hope some one helps out cause i dont think its normal
it's cold outside during this season, so sometimes your car doesn't warm up as fast or it doesn't warm up very much.

i always thought that coolant spews out, but i've seen people open the radiator cap after driving before and nothing happens...i wouldn't do it though, but people have.

i think if your car isn't hot, it wont spew...not sure, but i wouldn't try it either way unless the car has been parked.
Well the car warmed up for 10mins before i drove it so total run time was like 35-40 mins. Oh and i didnt have this problem before my swap Wich was done last week end
is the thermostat good ?
yes the thermo is good its brand new and i tested it
yes the radaitor was full and still is.
shoudlnt make a difference about the thermostat unless its stuck open which means that the water really doesnt have a chance to heat up.

u should be getting hot water strait out of the top hose. sit and let it idle with the cap off and see what it does.
and if you opened up the rad cap slowly and let the pressure leak out around the edges it will not spew out and you can open it successfully without getting burnt. did you open it slowly to not get burnt and so it wouldnt spew or did you just open it fast?
I opened it kinda fast, cause the radiator didnt even feel warm
so you had a leak when you opened the radiator? Cause i would think that depending on the leak that there wasn't enough pressure in the system to start with?
