Just as title suggests I'm swapping on a y8 manifold and have found conflicting info searching, here and Google in general.

I have a y8 im gasket, do I need that or the b7 one?

Lots of posts end up being use a different intake, I just need to know what gasket works though lol

Intake is from a manual car, has air holes etc. so not a straight swap but we'll get it done. And it'll look cool.

Yeah ppl at school are welding aluminum this qtr, was gonna have someone punch some plugs outta some scrap 1/8th inch plate and weld em in on the back side of the flange. They don't need to be blocked on the gasket side do they? I don't wanna deal w the clean up work and possible warpage on a sealing surface

Let me put it this way, help me figure it out for myself once it's apart

Searching was what led me to buy the y8 gasket, refreshing my memory in preparation of tearing into it led to my questioning it's correctness.

When choosing a correct gasket should one pay attention to the intake side or the head side to determine which to use?

Use a gasket from a 96 D16y8 car, no air injection.

Plug your air injection, even with JB weld.

I do recall fitment issues with air injection manifolds and PM3 heads, good luck.
