96+ uses obd2a/b and as far as I know, you cant tune.

so you'd have to buy a ecu jumper from obd2a/b to obd1 to use a modified ecu. nope. Im obd1 and haven't quite got that far of my build.

I was wondering about that, hoping that wasn't the case , dose that involve getting a different ecu or harness setup?

do you use chrome?
If you have tuning experience (or know someone who does), Crome is fine.

I have a 272 and was street tuned on it. Not sure about converting.

I thought all you needed was this: OBD2a to OBD1 ECU Conversion Harness

I learned Crome by chipping/ converting to OBD1 and having a local shop getting it pretty close for the tune, then tweaking it to run better and more efficiently on my own.

I've been a cheap a$$ though and only have a chip burner and no data logging, so it makes it a bit more of a challenge to tweak the tune
