whenever i rev my car up to 5100 (my vtec crossover), my check engine light comes on. but when i turn off the car and start it again, the CEL goes away. it seems like it only comes on when i hit vtec. i have a z6 and my fpr is set at 45psi. anyone know what the problem is??

my setup: cai, header, exhaust, fpr and gauge, spoon chip, skunk2 manifold, 62mm tb, plug wires, alt. pulley, short shifter, removed p/s, removed a/c.

check too see if you getting enough oil pressure, make sure you have enough oil too, by the way did you ever check your rocker-arm assmbly. i had that problem before and it was because of my vtec followers were stuck with all kinds of oil crud build-up after i cleaned them they started to loosen up but i was still losing oil pressure sum where, it was at the vtec solinoid the screen inside was clogged with all kinds of crap, wont hurt to check it. :D

Oil and oil pressure could deffinatly be an issue. Is VTEC deffinatly exgauging b/c with stock Honda ecu's, if there are engine problems, the car should not be able to enter VTEC. With a different ecu however it might bypass this Honda system. If you have your old ecu, throw it in, I belive if the car is having a VTEC related problem the engine will cut out before crossover.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
