hey ive got a 93 hatch and i want to redo the carpet in it, i was going to go to a carpet direct store and just buy a huge roll of black carpet, but i was wondering if its possible to do it like that or if you have to get the factory molded carpeting. has anybody done this b4 and if so what do i need to know. thanx dan

Anything is possible... It would be cheaper to get a roll of carpet and cut it out yourself but you probly wont get as good of fitment as you would if you were to buy a premolded/cut carpet.

The molded carpet is going to be so much better. I can see house carpet getting wadded up behind the brake pedal about the time you really need it.

yeah, you need something that's going to really warp the shape of the carpet so that it stays molded to the floor. Maybe a steamer would work... soften up the backing of the carpet (which is probably plastic) while it's on your floor and let it mold itself.

I know nothing about this, just taking a guess. If you try it let us know :)
