just bought a 95 civic EX and being paranoid that the previous owner had a duplicate key. i'm thinking of having the keys changed but i want it to be like from the factory (you know, just one key to open all). stealership quotes me $657 just for the parts.

is there a cheaper way to do this?

find a car that is being parted out in your area and buy the ignition/locks/keys. remember, a full lock set includes all doors, the trunk, rear seat release, trunk/fuel release, and glove box (if equipped with a lock), and a key set includes at least one master key and a valet key (does not operate trunk/seats/glovebox). a local part out car is your best bet because i doubt many junkyards will be able to provide full key sets for any of their cars.

i'm also thinking, if i only want the door and ignition to be the same, do i still need to go to the stealership?
