Im sure most of you already knew this but.....If you cant find a vtec ecu to run vtec in your newly swapped vtec engine or mini me swap, you can always buy the MSD rpm selector switch and control module that goes with it. Then you can not only run vtec but also select its point to engadge....Remember its not a REAL substitute for an ECU because you dont get the right fuel/ignition maps but it works............Just remember, the most important fact you will ever learn dealing with vtec.
MSD part numbers are
MSD 8950
MSD 8670 or 8671 depending what rpms you want 8671 goes from 4500-5200 rpm
NEVER ENGADGE VTEC BELOW 2,500 RPM!!! RPMS below 2500 do not produce enough oil pressure to support vtec, the engine will fall inot a fail safe mode, run on 3 cylinders and smoke its @$$ off.........
Plus there are no gains in running vtec that low either, it will actually be slower.............
