i have a d16y7 with I/H/E
im looking at the delta 272 camshaft

i have y8 valve springs laying around.
would it be a benefit to put them in?

and...

im getting a y8 IM cheap, should i try to get the injectors as well?

i already have an adjustable cam gear.

and what do i need in terms of tuning?

im doing the same thing you are. just a few steps ahead.

The Y8 Intake springs are stiffer than the Y7 so yeah there alittle better, i say just swap all the Y8s into there correct places.

When you swap to the Y8 manifold just use the Y7 injectors, the Y8s run rich.

You should pick up a hondata thermo I.M gasket. You could also get a B series T.B. and bore out the Y8 I.M. your getting

Im not sure about the tuning though

did your adjustable cam gear help at all? i was thinking about thta. i have the same engine just way far behind lol. only got exhaust and intake...

If you plan on tuning then make sure you get the Y8 injectors. You should probably get them anyway just in case you need them.
