Hey guys my si civic was idleing this morning wile i was leting it warm up nd then it died. i poped the hood and saw straight away that the cambelt had gone. i had brought the engine off a mate that 25000k "suposedly had 25000 on the cambelt but c now that it not the case. Whats the mostlikely fix?? New head etc?? are there any posts on this previously??

I went home and took off the cams etc and all valves look to b ok but i am unsure so i was thinkin it would be a good idea to take the head off just to check. its only gona cost me a gasket set and atleast il no its ok. Any thoughts??

best of luck to you. whenever i buy a car i always change the timing belt, even if they say it doesnt need it. it gets expensive when you ruin valves.

Yea I was going to do it but then i was told that it was done. but i wasnt using the cover on top ov the cam gears:oops: nd it duz look as if something has gone in and cased it to brake . Bad luck i guess

Hey guys just got the zc sorted last night and it was goin ok but my alarms goin hypo nw. any way the cambelt had broken as one ov the small steel locaters(in the holes thet the bolt go through) on the top cmbelt cover came loose and fell into the cambelt area and tore it up. not a likely thing to hapen bu atleast its ok now. all it needed was a new belt
