Sorry I searched but other than a few posts saying clearance everything no numbers are given.
My head is off and cams are getting tested.
If the cam is touching the head how much should be clearenced.
I dont think the cam bends so a clearance of .5mm should do right.

I would give it more clearance than .5mm, Ive never seen a cam lob spin that close to anything. Plus, you want to make it easy for oil to stay on the lobe, a tight clearance may "scrape" the oil film via windage.

d16y8 head on d15 block
bisi turbo cam, crower stage 3, blox stage2, and some other assorted cams.
The idea being to see which cam profile will work for what track / situation / road.

Ps: Good point on the oil being scraped off. Didnt think of that.

The stock cam it self has very little clearance as it turns in and out of the valley.
So once you start looking at cams with much more lift it is going to be an issue.

Big Tuna posted some pics of his head after he had clearance them need to go see if he mentioned any numbers.
