I guess nobody realizes that you can burn chips without crome. =/

Download and install flash and burn.
Flash and burn. Read chip to buffer, save buffer to file. Load file in desired tuning software.

Flash and burn, any firmware or any utilities can be had directly from the manufacturer of your device. This case Moates.net
sweet so i downloaded falsh n burn i can read the chip and everything and save it as a bin but whne i try to open it up with turbo edit it says bin not compatible or something i also tryed the same thing with a crome chip and it didnt work when i tryed to open it in crome

I have the same prob when I try to read chips with my Burn1. I didnt know if it was just me or if the file I was reading was burnt with a diff version thats why it wouldnt open.
With all the different versions of te and crome some times shit happens. I have had times I burn a chip and try and read it a few days later and it wont open. If you really need the info off the rom dumb you can pull some of it out with hex edit but its a long drawn out proses.

The best thing to do in the future is save the bin, email the bin to your self and back it up on some form data storage.
I dont have access to the file on 2 of the chips I have. They where burnt and sent to me. I am trying to read them and edit or copy to use as a base map to start tuning from.

I am needing to load them in crome and then to hook up with my Ostrich.
What version of TE are you using? Some older-style NG based bins need to be opened in TE 2.5.2. If you are using 2.5ish, you may need to install 3.2.2.

Some cases, guys hex edit, and nothing will really open it.

If you can't figure it out, hit me up. I'll give it a crack.
I am using Crome on mine. How would I get you the files if they dont ope? Just send you the .bin thats saved from reading chip?
I'm very unfamiliar with OBD1 stuff, but I can try a few things. Email the file to me.
well basicly i bought a car that was turbod but i wanna read the chip so i can have it on my pc bueacue i made some changes to my setup but wanna use that map as a starting point
try getting a Willem.
so any one no why the bins wont open
Yeah, because TE can't recognize them as a valid bin. I know that seems obvious, but, well, that's why.
ok so how can i get the bin to open
You don't.
ok well did really help me out but thanks anyways
That's just way beyond my skill level, and yet, I did as for you to email me the bin so I could try a few things I know to see if I can pull the tables out from the bin. So . . . yeah.

If you want some help tuning, email me. I love tuning OBD0 stuff.
Question of the Month????????????????????

Did you guys select the right chip in flash and burn?
I like obd0 try break
