I’ve been going through the NHRA rulebook and looking at class rules/regs from recent events like WCF to get an idea of what I need to be compliant. I’m hoping for now to avoid any metal tubing inside the car because that presents all the issues you brought up, and I don’t even know my ET/trap yet. For now I just thought I could get a comfy and grippy seat to caress my backside and I figured FIA or SFI seems pretty official. No plans to run a harness just yet
But yeah I’m seeing that the choice is not so simple

Worst that happens is I get the boot. Honestly not the biggest problem to have.

Draining the water tomorrow and adding in some 50/50 mix. I’ve been nervous since the temps dropped but I’m like 99% sure it never got to 32° out in the garage. It was 33° outside last night when I went to bed but 40° in the garage. My weather app says it got down to 27° between midnight and 5 AM, so using napkin math that would put the garage temp at 34° which obviously isn’t cold enough to freeze water. On top of that, even though Water Wetter will freeze, anything you add to pure water will lower the freezing point (thanks high school chemistry class), and even if that’s only by a degree or two it’s still enough to keep my coolant in liquid form. Either way, solving that issue this weekend.
