I’ll have him holding the flashlight before too long.

Letting the wife sleep in and getting some more stuff done this morning.
https://flic.kr/p/2mJ1DCB Hot side of the cutoff switch mocked up.

https://flic.kr/p/2mJ6Zbf The other side lands at the 150A breaker. Next up is getting the main power run measured/cut/loomed and brought up to the engine bay.

https://flic.kr/p/2mJzfTb Power post installed and power in/starter out mocked up. I need to secure the power feed and add a firewall grommet, then I can cinch it all down inside the cabin. Just ordered some more 7mm cable clips to finish that up.

https://flic.kr/p/2mJzfTg Fuse holder for the pump feed mocked up. I need some nuts/bolts to mount it but the holes are drilled.

I got the engine harness out and I’ll be laying it out to write up a final pin out in Excel.

https://flic.kr/p/2mKkCZY Securing the pump wiring. I found these little aluminum cable ties mount from Thomas & Betts and epoxied them to the chassis.

https://flic.kr/p/2mKp9yu Went ahead and pulled the FTP sensor wiring. I also removed the door trigger wiring. Still need to delete it all the way up to the junction in the driver kick panel.

https://flic.kr/p/2mKn3NQ Getting the distributor ready for COP conversion. I have a HondaRulez board on the way from Xenocron and I’m going to integrate the wiring into the engine harness I’m building.

https://flic.kr/p/2mKPpCN The dash is out, for what feels like the 100th time since I’ve owned the car.
Going to pull the HVAC bits and remove some unnecessary wiring today. Started to clean up the floor harness yesterday. Everything but fuel pump and tail lights will be de-pinned and removed, at least up to the next connector under the dash. Hoping to finish power wire run this weekend and then start the gauge wiring while the dash is apart.

HondaRulez COP board installed. Still need to solder/connect the A21 and A25 leads and then I can button everything up.
Art Of Attack still hasn’t shipped my lug nuts and Bad Guys Worldwide hasn’t gotten back to me about where to ship my intake manifold for porting. I’ve reached out to both of them twice, hoping I don’t have to initiate charge backs. We’ll see.

https://flic.kr/p/2mLi8aD Alt wire routed to bay and fuel feed removed. I’m adding an 80A fuse between the alternator and battery just for added safety, so I need to either find a spot to mount the current fuse holder I have or find a smaller inline style holder that I can tuck away somewhere.
Other than the exhaust, axles, and shift linkage, the motor is ready to come out. I need to take a break from the car and clean up the garage, then I can work on getting the car back up on jack stands to get some room underneath.

https://flic.kr/p/2mLS9Zo When I deleted the HVAC setup I realized the lights on the climate control panel wouldn’t light up anymore. So I traced the illumination wires on the green climate control plug back through the sub harness to the blue plug that joins the main body harness. There was a large hybrid connector in between that was bulky and unnecessary so instead I used a two pin connector in its place rather than solder the wires together. Then I sleeved and heat shrunk it so it looks nice. Really just a dumb little thing but there are lights in the console so why not have them work?

https://flic.kr/p/2mLVfKh Ignition power, tach signal, and ICM wires deleted from the distributor and the empty holes plugged up and the wires sleeved and heat shrunk. I can’t seem to find cavity plugs for the larger terminal holes so instead just used terminal seals (you can see the hole goes right through). But the car will never see snow or rain (unless there is a freak storm while I’m at the track) so I’m not really worried about water ingress.
Time to start shopping for a distributor cap delete.
Basically the car is just like 100 smaller projects now that I just knock out bits and pieces of. Looking at the available space on the firewall for mounting the remote oil pressure sender, alt wire fuse holder, and fuel filter, I think I can make my life 1,000 times easier if I tuck the prop valve inside. I’ve got the room now for sure. Finishing Lines makes a complete kit that will do all four corners and keep the stock MC but that’s another few hundred dollars and the time to install it. But at this point I need to figure something out since I need to get the fuel lines run. Speaking of which, I was going to set up the engine harness for the injector clips I need for the FIC 1440s but realized I’d likely need to do first start/break in on stock injectors so I’ll need to wire in NH1 connectors and then make jumpers down the road.

Just use the 1440's on start up, no jumpers necessary. Just make sure you load a stock base tune, then scale for your new injectors and MAP sensor. Done. She'll fire up and run well.

https://flic.kr/p/2mMe9ZP Distributor holes filled with Hondabond. Distributor cap delete ordered from SpeedFactory.

I also placed another big order for connectors, terminals, seals, and plugs from Cycle Terminal last night. My order for wire should be here on Monday and then I can start mocking up some of the sensor runs on the engine harness, using the current motor as a template.

Intake manifold was shipped off to BadGuys on Wednesday and Art of Attack emailed me to tell me they’re still working on getting my lug nuts in stock. My Mouser order for small ECU terminals is backordered until May so I bought 40 (at a higher price) just in case I get to that point before May comes along. I’d hate to not be able to fire up the car because I can’t crimp a few terminals.

Trying to get the dash back in this weekend and clean up some interior wiring and get the gauges mounted.

https://flic.kr/p/2mMe3mw Got the harness all decluttered and deleted the unused wires. Decided to go ahead and pull the pump cover since it probably won’t fit with my AN lines installed. I sleeved the pump and sending unit wires to where they’ll meet the rest of the body harness and I routed the grounds where they need to go. I ran out of heatshrink so I just ordered some more tonight. The plan is to sleeve this bundle all the way up to the fuse box and then use cable clips to secure everything. I had to drop the fuse box to get to some of the connectors so I’ll try to button that up this weekend before I plop the dash back on.
