I talked to Velocity last week and they told me that they didn’t expect to get the HardRace RTA bushings in until October and estimated I would receive them later that month. I cancelled that order since I already placed an order for PCI sphericals. Then I checked with PCI and they said they shipped the bushings on 7/27. I checked with Fed Ex and sure enough, the shipping was updated. As of right now they are sitting in the distribution facility about 5 miles from my house and they’ve been there since 9/21 so I will be calling Fed Ex today to figure out what the holdup is.
I've been hearing some crazy stuff around FedEx lately with this same kind of complaint. Not sure what their issue is.

Yeah, something fucky is going on. I called and I was told they put a trace request on it. I doubt it’ll do much good. It’ll probably piss somebody off and make them delay it even longer.

I went to the junkyard on Sunday. I was looking for a passenger side fender and a front bumper but I found neither. There were a lot of 99-00 bumpers but they were all aftermarket. There was only one 96-98 fender and while it looked clean from far away, it was rusted out and mangled at the lower corner where the bumper attaches.

https://flic.kr/p/2jQgKDp I did wind up finding a power mirror switch in Type K classy gray. I cleaned it up tonight and tested it out and it works, so that’s done.

https://flic.kr/p/2jQfRwx I also found a Type K center console. It was complete minus the lid, and not in terrible shape. I scrubbed it down last night and hit it with some Meguiar’s. Here it is being test fit. I’ve wanted one of these since I bought the car.

https://flic.kr/p/2jQfRwN I also found some better looking plugs for the rear deck lid, a fresher looking fuse box lid, two IAT sensors, and an unmolested wiper motor plug (I bent the fuck out of mine doing my wire tuck). I got all of this and a set of OBD1 ECU plugs for $15.

I hopped on the interwebs today and ordered a new box for the console along with all new screws. I wanted to order the lid but it’s $163, so I might just look for a JDM version or find a USDM piece and recover it.

Still no delivery on the PCI bushings.

https://flic.kr/p/2jUetEQ New console box came in, along with all new screws and some Downstar bolts for the UCA and an M12 bolt for my trans mount.

My PCI bushings are still pending for delivery. That’s 22 days now. Fed Ex fucking sucks.

I ordered a Mugen oil cap today from ICB, along with some Seeker reservoir socks. I almost bought new lugs nuts too but didn’t. I will have to replace my aluminum nuts with steel at some point but I can put that off.

2020 is winding down quickly. Looks like I might not get to drive this thing before New Years. Fingers crossed

Mugen oil cap and Seeker reservoir covers installed. I also installed a Downstar UCA bolt kit, but can’t tighten anything down until the car is on the ground. And I need RTA bushings to do that.
The wait continues...

My PCI order is still pending with Fed Ex. At this point I’m just going to assume it’s lost/stolen and have Brian initiate a claim. Hopefully I can just get my money back, but the way this year has been going, I’m not holding out much hope.
HardRace is still out of stock on the hardened rubber bushings but they did have the pillow ball version, so I ordered a set and they’re shipping today. I have Tuesday off so I’ll take the arms in to have the bushings pressed, if they arrive by then.
If I can get a refund from PCI I’m going to pick up a PLX wideband and maybe send my S300 in for an upgrade to V3. I doubt I’ll have many more nice days to take her out and play around but we’ll see.
My rear driver side window on my RDX stopped working last month but I was able to find a switch from the junkyard and fix that this past Saturday. Then my driver side headlight went out so I had to drop some coin on a new ballast and I picked up a new pair of D2S bulbs as well. It’s supposed to rain this weekend but maybe I can get that stuff taken care of in between showers. I can’t use the garage since my Civic is stuck in there.
And my wife got a flat on her Fit, so I slapped a spare Rota in her car and will try to get a patch job on Tuesday. Fun times

https://flic.kr/p/2k1xrCG New ballast, gasket, and bulbs for the RDX. New third brake light socket for the Civic. That’s $200+ in parts right there.

HardRace RTA bushings are scheduled to arrive Saturday by 8 PM. Still pending on the PCI order. Brain has been pretty cool thus far but my patience is approaching zero.

https://flic.kr/p/2k1tNxC I have two sets of OBD1 (non-VTEC) ECU plugs and a set of OBD2A (VTEC) plugs if anybody is interested. Too lazy to post them on eBay since that’ll mean I need to post all of my other shit too.

Not much to do on the car tonight other than pull the front wheels and try to eyeball the coilover sleeve heights. The backs are both set to 35 turns from the bottom so I’ll try to get the fronts close, or at least match them to each other. No way to know the ride height until I’m off the jack stands, but the springs are preloaded.

Looking at the wheels I have for this car, one pair of tires has a shit ton of wear on the inner shoulders.
https://flic.kr/p/2k1xAn5 So I guess it’s time to order a new pair. The other option is to just run that pair out back since realistically the car won’t be seeing the road very much until next spring. Ultimately, I’d like to get a set of Kosei K1 in 15x7 and mount a pair of Mickey Thompson ET streets up front and something decent out back like RE-71R or A052. I have been trying to find Rota Slips in 15x7 with the smaller center bore but that is looking to be impossible at this point. RPF1 are also on my list but they’ll cost more than the K1. Makes me sad that the days of finding a decent set of Mugen wheels for $1,00 is long gone.

I reached out to PCI and they have filed a claim for the original shipment that was never delivered and sent out a replacement shipment that is scheduled to arrive on Monday. They sent the second shipment via Fed Ex so we’ll see how that goes. Trailing arm bushings are at the machine shop and I should be ready to have those installed this weekend. I won’t be able to get the car on the ground until the toe arms show up but I’ll be able to get the rear brakes on and bled so I am making progress.

https://flic.kr/p/2k3vQZ8 Trailing arms are done!

https://flic.kr/p/2k3wwMW And reassembly has begun...

I’m going to order a wideband tomorrow. Summit has the Innovate MTX-L for $148 (after $25 mail in rebate)
I thought about the PLX DM-6 but there doesn’t seem to be any love for the gauge, and it has more components to potentially shit the bed.

https://flic.kr/p/2k3ya4G Replacement headlights came in tonight. TYC brand from RockAuto. $80 bucks for the pair. I’ll eventually crack these open and add projectors and a D2S se

https://flic.kr/p/2k3ya3z Left side arm is in and 90% assembled. Nothing has been torqued but the caliper bracket and brake soft line. I’ll have to drop it down again to install the toe arm.

More to come

https://flic.kr/p/2k4n5ET PCI came through with replacement RTA bushings and toe arms. I got one side of the rear all buttoned up, just need to install the locks for the parking brake cable. The other side still needs the toe arms installed.
I got the clips from Summit along with the wideband. No ETA yet on getting out on the street but at this point I’m not trying to rush it and overlook something silly.

https://flic.kr/p/2k4M5Rm New headlights are in. All four corners are assembled and I had the wife help me bleed the brakes. I can’t get it off the jack stands yet since I only have three wheels at the moment (the fourth is on my wife’s Fit). I actually have 12 wheels but only 5 good tires at the moment. I should have her tire replaced and her wheel back on her car by Tuesday and then I can drop my car, torque the axle nuts, settle the suspension/tighten all the bolts underneath, and adjust the parking brake. Then it will be off to the alignment shop.
I’ve just started looking for a laptop and still need to get the bung welded on so I can start using the wideband, which still needs to be wired in.
They are calling for rain on Wednesday and Thursday this week so I might not get to drive it until Friday or Saturday. No rush at this point. I’m pretty sure I’ll meet my goal of driving it before 2020 is over. I rolled her into the garage June 22, 2019, so almost 17 months of work.

Okay I checked the Progress manual and I’m on the right hole. So I can either spin the perches down or just use the top shock fork hole. Should be an easy fix.
I tightened most of the suspension bolts and called it a night. Now I’m laying in bed and realizing I missed a few bolts.
I should be able to drive tomorrow regardless of ride height. There is an industrial park near me so I’ll go over there and test/bed the brakes. I have a hockey game at 9:40 so I won’t have too much time to dick around. It’ll be my first time back on the ice since March.
Thanks for coming along on this journey with me. More to come!

Lucky! I haven't been on ice for about 2 years. I miss having some of my old equipment, the rinks near me won't even let guys play shinny without full gear!

You play on a team? Or just for fun? Sorry haha, I played hockey forever till I moved to the US. I miss it every once in a while.

I play on two teams and occasionally sub for a third, but currently only one of the leagues is back up and running, with all sorts of restrictions in place. It’ll be an interesting night with how rusty most of us will be.
