Newly rebuilt CRX L3 trans sounds like gravel while in 4th, 5th gear

Brand new rebuild of existing working, but in need of synchros, CRX SI L3 LSD transmission has gravel sound in 4th and 5th gear only running on lift.
All New synchros, all new bearings, dampners, washers, nut, etc by the book.

Shifts smooth as butter, engages all gears easily but has disturbing gravel sound while in 4th and 5th only.

What might it be? Anyone experience before?
OK to drive or am I grinding down hubs and dog teeth?

Links to a video recordings of the sounds:

Hopefully the links work this time.

Yep, it's wrong inside, never heard one make that much noise.

New set of synchros are only $43 for 88-2000

sounds like you may have accidentally swapped 4th/5th gear free running gear bearings?
not possible different ID/OD...

I'll go with CS not locked in and the bearing damaged, or wrong bearings used.

I have dealt with a rash of L3's in the past month that still continue to amaze me they were still being raced on.

Even had one spit out a diff pin as the owner was backing the CRX into the shop to swap in the spare trans I'd just rebuilt.

The OP has sent me a PM which I haven't responded to (yet, I will) to help him. I just got another two referrals from customers in NC having their friends requesting help.

Having troubles (a good thing?) getting to everyone, but I'm trying.
