as some of ya know i'm doing a N/A a6 rebuild w/p29 and cbr600rr. my question is:
1) should i drive my car first breaking in my motor w/highway miles, a cai and my z6 im w/gsr tb (i was going to drive from ny to ga and back) then put on my itb's
2) or just slap my itb tune then break in the hard way?(also do the same as in driving miles)

advice, please. thanks. but remember opinion are like assholes everyone has one. :TU:

EDIT: well i did some more research and i found some good info for future builder. here ya go:

I would do the first option, but don't drive it around untill it gets tuned. The most you want to run a fresh engine un-tuned is just enough to to seat the rings and check for problems. After that hit the dyno. If your tuner knows what he/she is doing then your engine should be broken in just fine during part throttle tunning.

If you drive it around you risk doing more damage then good. Most of the time the engine will either run too rich or too lean.

Here's a pretty good link going more in depth on it.

i would seat the rings with the plenum installed so you can be close to tune. Tune the ITB's after you have the rings seated, and a few miles on the motor.

i thought it was like 500-1000 miles. anyway whatever it is i'm going to drive from GA to NY and then back. cause i do know highway miles are better for the motor then stop n go miles.
