Friends car is smoking blue smoke when car is first started for about 5 to 10 minutes and then clears up.

The smoke goes away when driving

Any ideas?

How much smoke are we talking about here? Just a constant pulsating blue smoke that extends about 6-9 inches out the exhaust and dissipates or one that makes a billowing smoke screen?

Gunna have to agree with the above posts. Oil is too thin. Id run 10-30 at a minimum, heavier if your in a warmer climate. Actually, IIRC, the Honda manual for the d's calls for 10-30 in temps above 5'C [41'F]
