Best way to remove hg

im in the garage right now awaiting the install of my new head but im having trouble removing the old gasket with my razor blade scraper, what is the best method for removing the old hg? i have a razor blade and i also have a dremel tool.. also is there some kind of solevant that will help in the release of the gasket... might i mention it had been overheated on several ocassions so that bitch is baked on there. thanks in advance

i just used a pneumatic die grinder with a buffer wheel
(thread jack?) after you grind/dremel all of that stuff off... how do you clean it? do you have to worry about stuff going down the cylinders? that always worried me...
belt sander!!!!!!!!!

air grinder with scotchbrite pads, but you have to be careful.
how about some HCl? lol
I've seen gasket remover/adhesive remover at the auto parts store. try that.
SAND PAPER.
FOR real fun and to make you think twice before overheat your car!
I used a dremmel with brass wire brushes.

Brass won't scratch the aluminum under normal circumstances.

shit works pretty good, softens it up real nice. then use a blade...
