Bent KYB AGX

Hey kinda need some diagnostic help here. A while back I put GC Coilovers and KYB AGX shocks on my front end. I set the height at about 1" below stock. After several months of using the car as a daily driver i noticed that the car was hitting really hard on bumps and decided to take a look at the shocks. To my horror I saw that my new AGX on the passenger side was bent at the top where it enters the shock tower. Any ideas what would shocks to lock up and bend like this? I later noticed that GC has a different set for each shock type, any ideas why they would do this, and could the wrong set cause shock damage like this? Thanks for any help!

Got pics? Any deal with their customer service before...are they cool with replacing bad parts?
Nah. I scrapped it and put an stock shock on in the meantime. Also because i bought them from an online seller I dont think they will be too quick to replace it for me.
did you dukes of hazard the shit? Proper install?
did you dukes of hazard the shit?
I did that with my civic that have agx and no bent agx shaft here.
kyb's have lifetime warranties provided that you have the receipt, doesn;t matter if it was off an online dealer. and i dont think GC has a different spring for every shock, but they do have different sleeves for konis b/c they dont have the cup.

regarding your problem, did you forget to put the bump stop back in?
When I took the old shocks off I noticed that there werent any bumpstops on them, so I bought new bumpstops and cut them in half which I was told I should do for the AGX's. Should I have left them in tact?
i think you might have an installer error
very possible lol. was my first experience with suspension. But the question is where is the error :p
i dukes of hazzard tibby and its coilovers put up with it. one time at night i accidentally went over a speedbump at like 40

take some pics of your bent strut.

i betcha when you were fitting it you cranked it to the side to get it over the LCA. just a hunch
