Just a couple days ago I noticed that my battery light flickers ocassionally. I havent noticed the lights dim or anything. I check the battery voltage at idle with all the accesories on and I got 14.34 volts. The battery connections are tight. Im not sure how much deflection the alternator belt should have, but it doesnt seem super loose. I could tighten it a little. What else could I check?

You may have a short in the wiring to the dash. Check for breaks or corroded connectors.

Oddly the "Battery" light has nothing to do with the battery, it is a circuit in the alternator. Alternator needs load tested (with amp reading)

Doesn't have to come off the car, just needs tested with a load.

If the belt is slipping the ya I could see that being an issue.

Sounds like you might have nipped it.
