okay well im new here iv been asking a few questions and im finally gonna have all my parts here on monday to start my build..

the car is a black 93 civic hatch cx

im gonna be running the following:

d16z6 engine:
fjt custom length i beams
viagra pistons
acl race bearings
arp headstuds

the head is completly stock (for now) iv gone through and replaced the valve seals and added a adjustable cam gear. mods to the head will come later on as i figure out exactly what i want out of this motor.

iv also done the diy engine and trans mount fill with the lowes brand poly,
and im doing a wire tuck on the bay and relocating the battery to the back.

this car is being built as a daily driver and im shooting for only a moderate, but solid 250whp. im sure this number will increase as i get hooked on the boost bug. iv never actually even rode in a turbo civic so i have no idea what i want.

the turbo setup is :

dsm 450cc injectors
ebay 31inch intercooler
ebay intercooler piping
t3/t4 50 trim turbo
mini ram horn manifold
hondadata s300
greddy bov
ebay wastegate
ebay oilcooler
custom ss braded oil lines and what not.
ebay 3inch downpipe
p28 ecu
(ebay is my friend for everything that can be trusted)

the car also has a full 3inch exhaust,no cat, running to a carbon fiber generic muffler that sounds like crap but will work for now.. the only suspension the car has is eibach progressive springs and front and rear strut bars. im gonna be running the stock cx trans for now till i pick up a si trans thats gonna be getting lsd put in it.

so thats basically my parts that im gonna use any feedback would be appreciated and pics are to come soon of all the goodies

theres nothing bad about having a larger oil capacity and the ability to more efficiently cool it.
I agree with that, but a oil cooler is another place to get oil leak, and if hose or pipe break, you'll probably burn the engine. I would invest more in a bigger radiator, which reduce heat of the motor, and also the oil passing trough this engine. No more possible leak, only using the existing devices.

If you want to have more oil cooling, perhaps a bigger pan should help too.

yes. go with an oil cooler.. but if your auto crossing. use a smalle rturbo.a dn maybe a windage tray.. i wouldnt wanna see you lose oil pressure on hard cornering. a 50 trim is a ncie size. avg IMO. i runa .57 trim. but i also only go straight. the lag from a 50.. would kill you in a cone course. maybe something like a mitsu 20g or big 16g turbo would get you up and spooling in the 2500 rpm range. and reall make the car haul ass out of the turn

yeah but i also want it to conserve on gas during my commutes so having full boost at 2500rpm would kill my crusing on the interstate when i commute..because thats right around where my rpms sit.... well maybey since gas is 1.97$ here i can do it now and it wont matter

Have you ever heard about running thicker oil ? Do you think that nascar use 5w30 ?? They use 20w50+

well today i checked my mounts i filled and they are pooo.. cause i got the wrong stuff i guess so im thinking of using fiberglass resin or just buying the 3m window weld that i know will work.

but now iv got everything worked out and the head binding issue fixed so i should be on my way to getting this thing together and ill start taking some pics..

i shouldnt have done the wire tuck right off the bat though man its such a mess dealing with building a motor and installing it and trying to mess with all this wire

and tomorrow im going to the salvage yard and getting a vtec and 4 wire o2 sensor plug and i need to get a ecu plug so i can get some pins to add to mine so i can hook up the vtec.. the spots where i need to pin into dosent have any of the little pins on em.

and iv decided to switch to a 16g turbo instead so i can spool faster and still hit all my goals. hopefully gas is going to stay around 1.97$ here so that being in boost while commuting whouldnt be a big problem i should still get 25ish mpg shouldnt i>? adn ill be spooled at like 2500rpm which will be sweet

smaller exhaust turbine = less efficient out of boost. you motor needs to work harder to pump air through it.

think about blowing through a paper towel tube, and then a straw.

then again, i have a TINY ass turbo and still get 14km/L or around 33mpg.

another thing too, if the turbine housing is too restrictive you could be leaving burnt exhaust gases in your cylinder which reduces the efficiency of the next combustion process

Who cares. The oil go everywhere anyways it's thick or not, and thicker oil when warmed keep more viscosity. I don't talk about tunning gear oil like 70w80. ¨Something good I've found with time is 15w40 for diesel engine in summer, there is so much certification and approval, good for turbo and extreme pressure.

Nascar started to put hybrid engine like prius in it. Less pollution. :8:

its so pretty to finally have my own and not see pics of the vitaras and fjt rod combo.
