I have a eg8 with a b7 block with a z6 head.

I had a little accident and cracked the b7 block.
I was able to recieve a b8 motor and i took off the b8 head and noticed the pistons are the same as the b7 block.

is the b7 block and the b8 block the same only difference is the head on each blocks?

i'm really wanting to get my car going, and start my turbo build soon.

i'm wanting to do the mini-me with the b8 block, without loss of power that i had from the b7.

also if the stroke is different on the b8 would i be able to put the b7 crank in the b8 then?

Thanks..

early B8's were rumored to only have 2 valve relief pistons but you already stated that it was good to go. I'd say your safe to use it. The strokes should
be the same.

yeah the block was exactly the same as the b7 block... and i noticed it had the pm3 stamps on the pistons from the b7 block.

and how much less stronger are the rods from the b7 ?

if they are that much of a difference from the b8 and b7, i should just put the rods from b7 into the b8.
