hey i know “the search is your friend” and i’ve been searching all over here, honda-tech, and everywhere else. i made an account just to ask this. doing a d15b7/d16z6 mini me, y8 cam gear and head gasket, stock p28 ecu. i’m considering p29 pistons, but i have no idea if that would work on stock b7 rods. thanks for your input and any other suggestions besides using a y8 head are appreciated :)

On stock rods, not worth the time for a minor bump in compression. If you use the longer VX rods the piston WILL smack the head in the quench area and fuck everything up.

Stock 9.28:1 vs. 9.5:1 compression using the same B7 head/gasket but with P29 pistons.
PM3 bottom end, Z6 head, Y8 HG, 10.5:1 compression, deck the head .5mm for 11:1...but caution that running an aftermarket cam with cause P2V contact.

Y8 HG = .028"
