I see a lot of stuff on here for mini me swaps in the flavor of Z6 heads, but I'm not really sure what the difference is going to be for a Z1. I'm after fuel economy here, not power, I understand Vtec vs. Vtec-e.
I picked up a 95 civic lx with a D15b7 with a bad head gasket. I bought a z1 head from a 92 vx, I want to clean and test it and maybe do a bit of my own mild porting. My aim is VE.
The main difference I can see in the mating surface is the smaller combustion chamber. There are spots where the pistons actually touch the head. The pistons have valve clearances in them, but can I be sure they are the same?
Will I need to know anything special vs. a standard mini-me swap?
